CAPA 2024 Board of Directors Elections


Are you interested in getting more involved in PA leadership in Colorado? Do you know of a PA who would be a strong addition to CAPA leadership? Consider running or nominating a colleague for this year's open positions! 

CAPA Board of Directors Nominations will open on April 12, 2024. All elections material must be received by May 12, 2024. Please see timeline below for more info. 

You must be a CAPA member in order to run for the positions. The leadership year runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. The Board meets 4-6 times per year. Board meetings are held virtually and in person, dependent on the needs of CAPA. Meeting calendar for 2024-2025 is pending and is dependent on Board member availability. All Board members are required to attend at least half of the Board meetings, though attendance at all meetings is strongly encouraged.

May 12th: Nominations Close
May 13th-May 20th: Elections
June 1st: Last day to announce winner
July 1st: New members assume office

Open BOD Positions

President-Elect (1-year term, 3-year commitment)

This position is a one-year term that succeeds in serving as President and then Immediate-Past President of CAPA. The President shall preside at all meetings and will oversee all the operations of the organization in collaboration with the Board of Directors. The President-Elect will work with the President in all endeavors related to the operation of the organization. The President-Elect must be present at 75% of Board meetings.

Must be an AAPA and CAPA member. This is a voting Board position.

Secretary

The Secretary will keep minutes of all meetings of the Academy, shall have access to all membership data and shall notify members of all meetings. The Secretary shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the President and/or BOD. The Secretary also chairs the Public Affairs Committee and is involved with social media happenings. The Secretary shall serve for one (2) years and usually is elected on EVEN years only. 

Director at Large (2 open seats)

Directors-at-Large shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the President and/or BOD. The Directors-at-Large shall serve for two (2) years.

Chief Delegate - Elect

The Chief Delegate-Elect will serve for one (1) year and then matriculate in the second year to the position of Chief Delegate for a total of (2) years. The Chief Delegate to the AAPA HOD will serve on the BOD for a one (1) year term. The Chief Delegate will be responsible to inform board members of the upcoming HOD business and will coordinate submission of any CAPA sponsored resolutions to the HOD. The Chief Delegate will lead and mentor the Chief Delegate-Elect and Delegates at the HOD. The Chief Delegate shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the President and/or BOD. 

Delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates (4 open seats)

Delegates will serve for one (1) year. They shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the Chief Delegate. All delegate positions are required to attend the AAPA HOD meeting at the annual AAPA conference.
