Colorado Grassroots Advocacy

Are you interested in helping with CAPA's 2022 advocacy efforts?

We're launching a PA Modernization Bill Phone Campaign to engage with our colleagues and tell them about our 2022 bill, why it is important, and how to help support passage of the bill.  We need volunteers to call members of CAPA between February 1st and February 14th.

Each volunteer will be asked to call 10-15 colleagues. We will provide you with everything you need - training, instructions, and mentors to answer any questions that may arise. Please note this is not a fundraising campaign.

A virtual training session will occur on Monday, January 31st at 7pm.

Fill out the form below to join in the effort to support modernization of PA practice in Colorado!

CAPA is seeking at least one PA advocate to lead relationship-building in each state Senate and House district.

CAPA is seeking at least one PA advocate to lead relationship-building in each state Senate and House district.

Why is this important?

Remember that old adage, “all politics is local”? It’s famous for good reason: because it’s true. Your legislator is responsible for crafting policies that impact you professionally and personally. Once you develop a strong relationship with him or her, they will turn to you for input on matters you are most knowledgeable about and almost always vote the way of those they are most close to in their district.

What do I need to do?

  1. Find out who your state legislators are: https://leg.colorado.gov/find-my-legislator!
  2. Reach out to your personal state legislators, introduce yourself and offer to serve as a resource. All of the important talking points can be found on our 2022 Bill Fact Sheet. Please reach out to info@coloradopas.org with any questions or if you’d like to discuss the bill with a CAPA leader. We will ask you to make initial contact now, and start to build a relationship with your state legislators.
  3. We will engage you in the future as needed to help support CAPA's state legislative priorities. Out intent is to ensure CAPA has a strong, well-developed PA network with legislators, and that works best when legislators know you - a PA in their community!
