Are you interested in getting more involved in PA leadership in Colorado? Do you have a leadership background with interest in working on issues related to PA practice and healthcare access in Colorado? Do you know of a PA who would be a strong addition to CAPA leadership? Consider running for a CAPA Board of Directors position or nominating a colleague! Open positions are listed below.

CAPA Board of Directors Nominations will open on April 12, 2021. All elections material must be received by May 12, 2021. Please see timeline below for more info. 

Please note, you must be a CAPA member in order to run for a position. Individuals may run for a voting Board position and an HOD (non-voting position). The leadership year runs from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. Board meetings typically occur every other month on a Saturday morning. Meeting calendar for 2021-2022 is pending and will take into account Board member availability. All Board members are required to attend at least half of the Board meetings, though attendance at all meetings is strongly encouraged.

Open Positions:

President-Elect (1-year term, 3-year commitment)

This position is a one-year term that succeeds in serving as President and then Immediate-Past President of CAPA. The President shall preside at all meetings and will oversee all the operations of the organization in collaboration with the Board of Directors. The President-Elect will work with the President in all endeavors related to the operation of the organization. The President-Elect must be present at 75% of Board meetings.

Must be an AAPA and CAPA member. This is a voting Board position.

Vice President (2-year term)

The Vice President will serve as the judiciary expert for CAPA and will maintain and update Bylaws and Policies annually and as needed. The Vice President will serve as the chair of the Judicial Affairs Committee. It is strongly recommended that candidates have experience in policy development, judicial affairs or parliamentary procedure. 

Must be an AAPA and CAPA member. This is a voting Board position.

Treasurer (2-year term)

The Treasurer is responsible for monitoring the financial health of the organization, overseeing maintenance of accurate records, assisting in preparation of financial reports for the Board and preparing the annual budget for CAPA. It is strongly recommended that candidates have experience with financial management platforms, such as Quickbooks, or other relevant business or financial experience.

Must be an AAPA and CAPA member. This is a voting Board position.

Director at Large (2-year term) (3 positions open)

The Director at Large serves on the Board and is required to serve on a CAPA Committee. A Director shall perform duties as assigned by the President and Board.

Must be a CAPA member. This is a voting Board position.

Chief Delegate Elect (1-year term, 2-year commitment)

This position is a one-year term, and will succeed as Chief Delegate for a one-year term. The Chief Delegate will be responsible for informing Board members of the upcoming HOD business and will coordinate submission of any CAPA sponsored resolutions to the HOD. The Chief Delegate will lead and mentor the Chief Delegate-Elect and Delegates at the HOD. This position is required to attend the annual AAPA meeting that is typically held in May and participate in any additional virtual HOD meetings.

Must be an AAPA and CAPA member. This is a voting Board position.

Delegates to the AAPA House of Delegates (1-year term) (4 positions open)

This position is a one-year team and will represent Colorado PAs in the AAPA House of Delegate. This position is required to attend the annual AAPA meeting that is typically held in May and participate in any additional virtual HOD meetings.

Must be an AAPA and CAPA member. This is a non-voting Board position.
